Amherst Alarm, Inc. Celebrates 30 Years in Business

Posted By Administration, Tuesday, July 15, 2014

Tim Creenan, co-founder and CEO of Amherst Alarm, Inc., is proud to announce the company’s 30th anniversary this year.  Started in June of 1984, the company has evolved to meet the changes of new technology including new communication paths and home automation. Keeping up with the leading edge of technology is a high priority for Amherst Alarm.

The company has grown to be one of the largest in the industry.  It employs more than 50 full-time employees and is home to the UL Listed, Five Diamond Certified Monitoring Response Center as well as the Security and Home Theater Design Centers.

Amherst Alarm has been recognized as one of the nation’s top 100 companies by Security Distributing & Marketing, the nation’s number one security industry magazine for nine consecutive years.

The ANET24 system is the latest trend which gives you control of your security system from anywhere you are using your computer, tablet or mobile phone.  Among the things ANET24 enables you to do: remotely arm or disarm the security system; raise or lower the thermostat; check on your kids coming home from school or your elderly parents while you’re at work; turn on your lights if you’re coming home after dark, and unlock the front door for Joe the Plumber or your weekend guests if you’re running late.

Tim Creenan is president of the New York State Electronic Security Association and serves on the Board of Directors of the Installation Quality Program.  He is a past chair and has a firm understanding of the industry on both a local and state level.

The company services both commercial and residential clients and is also the leading source for BEAM Central Vacuum Systems in Western New York.  Other services include Security/Fire Alarms, Automation Control, Distributed Audio/Video, Home Theater, Access Control, Alarm Monitoring, Home Networking, Life Safety Systems, and Video Surveillance.
